I like Stein Mart for the boutique style fashions one of a kind selections. I also
like Carson’s which have a fine petite selection.

I’m 4’11” and know exactly why you ask this question! I swear by Coldwater Creek, both in their stores and online at ColdwaterCreek.com. I also buy from Draper’s & Damon’s online and their website is drapers.com. You can request catalogs from both companies and it is well worth doing so.

Thank you for responding. I did not know that Coldwater Creek sold petite sizes. I will definitely go into their store. I am looking for other looks in petites besides what the department stores have now, but advice from all the FOF’s have been very welcomed. Thanks again.

I haven’t been into a department store or mall in over six years and I order ALL of my clothes online! I used to model for petite clothing and learned I didn’t want to see myself coming and going. That’s why I don’t shop in mall stores. Neiman Marcus has beautiful petite clothing, as does Talbot’s and Ann Taylor. Again, I only shop online and I know which retailers to trust for sizing. Neiman’s and Talbot’s tend to run small but all the others are normally true to size.

How “petite” are you? Is it a must ?
I don’t really believe in petite fashion. The variety is too limited.
I look for regular clothes for my “petite clients” choosing cuts that don’t require long proportion (shorter cut tops, etc) that perhaps with slight alteration will certainly work easily enough.

I am 5’3″ with a short torso, curvy shape, can wear size 8 thru 12 when I buy off the rack. Most of the size 12 bottoms I end up bringing to the tailor to take in since my waist is small, as well as the upper leg of the pants. Some of the jackets also need to be taken in as well, usually I start out with a Petite Medium with the jackets and tops. Thank you.

Oh if I only had a magic wand to create such a store for us vertically challenged! Most petite departs are limited unless you are in NYC and have access to bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Ave and Macys. I tend to shop online with best selection brand like Lafayette 148 (gorgeous), Calvin Klein, Anne Klein, Jones NY I think are you best bets. And for drapey casual Eileen Fisher does petites too!

Thank you for the response. I was hoping to find some different type fashions beyond the department stores though.
