I need suggestions for a high school graduation gift for a young lady headed to college. She seems to have “everything.” She is a close family member and I want to make the gift something she will always remember came from me. I can spend $150.

If you know what type of elecronics she has (iod, ipad, laptop) a personalized cover would be very useful…have your name engraved/embroidered with a message of encouragement. Include a coupon for a late night phone call and she will remember you always.

If she’s going to college I would suggest that you give her a gift card to Bed Bath and Beyond. This way when she selects her bedding set she will think of you everyday. Also, they offer a service (pack and hold) where you can shop at the nearest store to your home and they will forward your order to the nearest store to your school so you can pick your pre-packed selections up locally and not have to drag it from home! BBB has a data base of all the schools in the country and the closest store so everything is done by the store. Finally, if there’s no store near you she can shop on-line. Good luck!

Hi there–the best present I ever received for graduation was a gift certificate for high tea at the Ritz. I took two of my best friends and we got the royal treatment–tea sandwiches, pastries–you name it! There are Ritz Hotels in almost every major city. From your profile it looks like you are from Denver where I Googled and found that The Brown Palace Hotel does a nice afternoon tea service for about $40. With your budget she could take 2-3 friends! Here’s the link: http://www.brownpalace.com/index.php?/Dining/Afternoon-Tea

I think a cute overnight/weekend bag would be perfect. She’d use it lots coming home, visiting friends, etc. Something personal from Tiffany’s would not be forgotten, either!

Thank you. I don’t live in the South. Could you tell me more about Vera Bradly and Jon Hart.

Vera Bradley makes quilted colorful fabric pieces from wallets to pocketbooks to luggage. Check their web site to locate a retailer near you or you can purchase right off the web site.

How about looking at food stores close to her college and give her gift cards? Other good choices are gift cards for things like movies, Walmart/Target for dorm room items, the school bookstore, etc. There are a lot of things they need/want in college that can be as certificates and gift cards.
