Collars like those on shirtmaker dresses seem to be the most flattering way to “frame my face” and disguise a couple of areas I don’t like. Plus size fashions usually have V or scooped necks. I wear Foxcroft blouses but yearn for more looks. Any sources come to mind? Thank you.

I don’t have any suggestions for particular shirt brands, but do recommend adopting the habit of wearing scarves, available in an endless variety of textures, prints, solid colors and lengths. A scarf can camouflage just about anything from a wrinkled neck or chest to a large chest or stomach and can be layered with necklaces if you wish.

Try Johnes New York http://www.jny.com. Their plus sizes can be very flattering. Try your classic shirt with their open front blue flowing cardigan. A beautiful colorful print tunic top may also work for you and will give you some variety in your wardrobe with a different image and look that you yearn for. A cowel neck sweater that frames your face in a lovely color will give you a scoop effect with elegance. Don’t forget your accessories for the finishing touches of your new tops. Hope this helps

Before buying blouses take into consideration the shape of your face. If your face is angular, square, rectangle, traingular, etc…you will look best in necklines that are boat necked, v-necked, or shirts with pointed collars. If your face is round, pear shaped, oval, or oblong you will be flattered by crew neck, scoop neck and rounded collars. With these tips in mind, I would recommend Eddie Bauer’s no-iron blouses. JC Penny’s Worthington is worth looking at and Talbot’s. Talbot’s carries petite, women and misses sizes.

    Hi,
I totally understand where you are coming from! I’m busty but have smaller shoulders so many of the blouses in style today don’t fit me well. I have found that boatneck tops are very flattering. They highlight your collarbone and create a great backdrop for almost any kind of jewelry. Eloquii by The Limited has the most fantastic ones I’ve worn so far! I purchased the quarter length sleeve version in every color and they can be dressed up with nice slacks or a pencil skirt but also make jeans a great Saturday outfit. Eloquii is available online and in certain Limited stores and they are always having a sale. BTW, these sweaters wash well and are easy to maintain. I hope you check them out and thanks for such a great question! Happy shopping!!!

Carissa Rose goes up to 18 (Well Endowed) and 16 (Really Endowed). They have sizes as small as 4 as well. This clothing line is for the Endowed woman and is excellent. I often need to wear a 10 to fit the “girls” inside but I can wear a 6 or 8 in Carissa Rose. They have many Shirtmaker looks and they styling ensure “No Gaps”. http://www.carissarose.com/
