I would think you could use a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. Avon, in their Mark line, has one called Get a Tint, which is light weight and oil free, with an SPF 15. Also in the Mark line is a multi benefit foundation, oil free, with a broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Either way, you’d get some sun protection and should have no breakouts.
In many ways, you are lucky to still have the oily skin, because you will age well. Since using a moisturizer breaks out your skin, there are two possibilities: 1) the product has something in it to which you are allergic; 2) the product is too acidic for your skin.
The cell size of a moisturizer is supposed to be larger than your skin cells so that it sits on top of your skin. Its primary function is to keep in the moisture and to protect your skin from the elements of your environment, keeping them out. If your moisturizer happens to have special ingredients in it which are trying to penetrate your skin while the other main ingredients are there to stop it, you have a battle of cells on your skin.
First, when you break out, take a cotton tip and dip it in Hydrogen Peroxide, and then apply to any of the areas that need attention. This will kill the bacteria under your skin, and help those pimples to find their way out from under!
All my clients use extra virgin olive oil daily. Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) has a cell size smaller than your blood cell. Consequently, it penetrates deep into your skin to protect it. What about my oily skin and breaking out? you ask. In fact, your sebaceous glands feel the presence of the oil and stop producing more oil or sebum. You stop breaking out. The EVOO also has every anti-oxidant the body requires and in direct proportion. So you have the added benefit of the anti-oxidants protecting and nourishing your skin.
The way to tell if your EVOO is a good product is to rub a small amount between your hands. There should be either the slight odor of olives or no odor at all. If there is an odor, don’t use it on your skin.
Wash your face, then take about 1/2 a teaspoon of EVOO and rub it between your hands. Apply it to your face, neck and upper chest. You can rub it in or not. If you have any feelings of greasiness, take a tissue and blot your skin. You can then apply makeup.
This is help to regulate the oils in your skin, remove those fine lines, and leave your skin looking healthy and bright. After five days of doing this, you will have people asking you what you have done with your face, you look so much better.
Although this sounds like too simple a solution, it is the most effective that I have found for my clients. This advice was first given to me by Dr. Peter Pugliese (look him up.)
I hope these simple measures are helpful and that you can start right away. It is a good idea to get a small bottle, clean it, and fill it with the EVOO. Keep it next to your sink in the bathroom, and you will be more inclined to use it daily.
You do stil need to keep moisturizing as oil & water are two separate things! Only use an oil-free moisturizer & before app ing make sure sure your skin is cleansed & toned to keep your pores free of impurities which can lead to the breakouts you are talking about. If you want to shop department store Lancome Absolue lotion will give you lots of anti aging properties whilst being oil free. In the drugstore Neutrogena will be your best bet. Avon has a great cleanser Rejuvenate which cleanses & tones at the same time. Follow that with Mark’s Matte Chance Mattifying lotion which helps balance your skin by reducing oiliness by as much as 30% so you won’t have that greasy feeling on your skin when you add a regular moisturizer. My link will take you to my website or Avon.com will give you a representative near you. Look on the bright side too-your skin is always going to look good as you age & you will have far fewer lines & wrinkles than people who have always had dry skin (myself included!).
Believe it or not, this is quite a common dilemma for many women over 50–oily skin and breakouts.
What’s important is to look for an oil-free hydrating moisturizer that contains acne controlling ingredients. The good news is that most of those ingredients are also wonderful for anti-aging as well.
I am a firm believer in multitasking skincare, so for day I suggest a hydrating lotion that contains and SPF.
