I am in my early 50’s and my hair is graying which I am fine with. I would like a recommendation for a shampoo I can use that will give my hair body since it is fine in texture, and without coloring it bring out the nature color better in my hair. I feel like it looks kind of drab.

Try WEN “non shampoo”. I too have fine hair. Order from anyone but their website. Sephora has free shipping over $50 (I’m in AK so I’m always happy with free shipping). I do not use the recommended amount!!! I use 4-5 pumps of it – and comb it thru and let it set while I shower and rinse it the very last. Really has made an improvement on my hair – I do color, blow dry, highlight – and everything else bad for my hair – and yet it still has shine and body!!! (If you like it you can order it from QVC too but shipping was too high for me in AK).

Susan, try John Frieda’s Clear Shine Luminous Glaze. It’s easy to use after you shampoo in the shower and gives your hair body and shine. Since it is clear, it will also kick up your not-so-gray hair. I love it! Please note that it is NOT a shampoo but is to be used after your shampoo in the shower. You apply a dime-sized amount, leave it on while you are washing your body, then lightly rinse it out. I think you might be pleased.

Depending on how gray it is (hard to see in photo), but I use Shimmer Lights. When I first bought it, I thought, uh oh, I’m turning into my grandmother (she-of-the-blue-hair-generation!) but I discovered that it neutralizes the yellowing effect that sometimes happens with the natural process of graying. I don’t use that for every shampoo. I also use any of the Keratase Shampoos which are phenomenal because, like you, I have fine hair. Hope that helps! And kudos to you, Susan, for going gray!

Thanks for suggestions. I will give them a try. I am graying in streaks, but it’s getting mixed in pretty good by now. I just want it not to look drab and like it’s still alive. Thanks again.

Thanks for reaching out to us Susan. At our shop we use this product by Pail Brown Hawaii – it’s a mousse gel. Let me know if this answers your question! Take care.

I was just looking for this too Geri, and what I found was a brand by Paul Brown, but I’m not clear what product to use. Maybe she will answer our questions.
