You might check out Act Two Magazine. http://www.acttwomagazine.com I have just started writing for them and believe in the publisher’s vision. I am tired of feeling invisible and voiceless! We haven’t done a piece on hairstyles specifically yet, but I will suggest it to my editor! I do agree with the women who posted here, but I know what you’re thinking. Ponytails and pigtails, long hair hippie-style — it’s time to let all that go. Crazy idea, but watch the Ambush Make-over part of the Today Show. Note that almost every time, they cut the woman’s hair and lighten it. Just sayin’.

I believe that your hairstyle is not about what is appropriate for your age, but what is appropriate for you. Consider the shape of your face, your hair texture, and how much time you are willing to spend to upkeep your cut and style.

Google haircuts for your face shape and will find many choices. Print a picture and take it to your stylist. A educated stylist will also be able to make suggestions about a cut that will look best on you.

I would suggest getting a consultation from a trusted stylist. They can usually help you look at your facial features & hair type to determine what might look best on you. They also usually have tons of reading material, magazines & stylist books for browsing for ideas! Happy styling!
