08August   {Test This} Brush on Block

————————————————————————————---------------------------------------—————

Brush On Block (retail value: $24.95), from Susan Posnick Cosmetics is a refillable brush with SPF30 sun protection powder.

The product is marketed as “effortless sun protection” superior to “messy, greasy” lotions, sticks and sprays.”

Made from natural minerals--titanium dioxide and zinc oxide--the powder will “sit on top of your skin and reflect the sun’s rays away from your body...unlike chemical sunscreens which work by being absorbed into the skin,” according to the manufacturer. The powder is “invisible” and can  be applied over and under makeup.

The brush is refillable, and its design creates “little risk of the product running or dripping into the eye area and makes it less likely to irritate the skin or clog pores,” the manufacturer claims.

Is this the best UV protection under the sun? 7 FOFs will put it to the test. Leave a comment below for a chance to win.

Sunscreen is the best anti ager in the world. Wish I had started using it so much sooner. Would love to try this variant.

I live on the lake in Louisiana and constantly fight the sun. A powder base product sounds like the answer to all my prayers. Sunscreen lotion is such a hassel to reapply all day long and actually causes me to sweat even more. Would like to try this new product.

Since I travel nearly 400,000 miles a year, I’m always looking for non-liquid or gels that are easy to pack and make my life easier. Often the choice is to forego liquids in large containers (like sunscreen) or to check luggage. Since I try to work with carry on bags as much as possible, this often means I don’t have sunscreen at my destination.

I know it’s not good to be out in the sun without sunscreen, and I do use products with sunscreen in it, but I still know my skin needs better protection when I’m traveling. Would love to see how this measures up.

This looks like an interesting product. I have a terrible time finding sun screen that works for me because so many have ingredients that make me really itchy. Lotions are not that great for me, so this might be a fantastic alternative.

I’m outdoors every day walking and training dogs so having a product that would cover me and protect me from the sun would be great.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

I actually use bare minerals with includes sun block. I would love to test this because I love adding minerals to the equation and what I’ve learned that you want to reflect the sun away not absorb the rather invasive chemicals in. In theory, this deflects rays as that hit your skin without clogging pores by entering as liquid sunblock works. Zinc oxide is a good deflecter which I believe is in the bare mineral powder base…..

The doctor wanted to give me a shot of cortisone for the sunburn, but said he’d have to run a pregnancy test first to be sure I wasn’t pregnant. I just laughed at him . . . until the test came back positive. My daughter just turned 35 — we didn’t have sunscreen back then.

How tired am I of the sticky cream based sun blocks, words cannot even describe… I have skin that tans easily, so easily that I’ve ruined my skin. I now have melasma/brown patches I have been trying to fade. I have to wear sun block daily to try and stave off the tanning process. While the mineral make-up has some sunscreen in it, I still need to apply a sun block, just to be safe. The brush on block would be perfect, I’d love to test it and let all know how it compares to the traditional cream(s)/lotions.

Brush On Block is a great concept! I’m sensitive to most sunblocks that you rub in – this looks like my answer!

Just got back from vacation in Florida. Wow that would have been a great place to test this! I still would not mind trying it out. I am fair with dark hair and eyes, and always burn at first. I managed not to burn using SPF30, but I hated applying the cream, and spray did not work well. Powder really might make a difference!

I have been dedicated myself to riding my bike and establishing a long-term healthy lifestyle. And I have really come to love my daily 13 mile round trip. I wear sunscreen everyday on my face, and it definitely has to be reapplied on days that I really push myself, but carrying it in my backpack has resulted in a couple spills which have made a huge mess and destroyed some of my nice work clothes. I would love to just have something that I can pop in the small pocket, not worry about, and reapply easily without clogging my pores or leaving my face feeling greasy. I bet this is the answer!

I use sunscreen daily and hate the greasy feel that some products leave on my skin. Even the ones that don’t feel greasy often feel heavy! I would love to try this powder product!

Being part of the baby oil mixed with iodine sun protection generation, I need a good sunblock. I really like the idea of a powder. I’d love to try it!

No more greasy skin!!! Hooray! I use sunblock all day every day and this sounds like a quick and easy way to do it. I would really love to try it.

I must use sunscreen/block everyday due to SLE (lupus). This one sounds so convenient to use. I would love to be chosen to test it.
