The first consideration is whether or not you will be considering more pregnancies. A pregnancy will “undo” much of the benefits of a tummy tuck. Next, a complete exam is needed to determine what the best treatment is for you. If you have good skin tone and localized fat with little skin excess, a liposuction may be all that is needed. If you have a lot of skin laxity and loose abdominal muscles, a tummy tuck may be indicated. This operation will repair the separated muscles and remove the loose skin, but it is a much more invasive procedure. A mini-tummy tuck falls somewhere in between and could be another alternative..

My first question is have you completed your family? If you plan to have more children in the next few years, I would advise waiting until your family is complete. If you are otherwise in good shape, you might benefit from a procedure such as CoolSculpting, which is designed for people with pockets of fat that are exercise and diet-resistant. However, CoolSculpting will not work well if the underlying muscles are lax and need to be tightened. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the first step to determine your best options.

Thank you for your interest in abdominal contouring through a tummy tuck procedure. When life changes lead to the sagging of your tummy, an abdominoplasty procedure can restore tone and shape. By tightening the muscle and trimming excess skin and fat, long lasting changes to your body shape can be dramatic. Your individual goals and current body shape will determine the best approach for you.

Your evaluation can begin with a consultation to review your goals. I am currently offering an initial complimentary free consultation for the cosmetic procedure of your choice. Please call us at 630-495-1000 to arrange a convenient time for you. You can also find detailed information about my practice by visiting my website at http://www.drstefani.com. Costs of most surgeries will involve the following: surgery, anesthesia, operating room, recovery room, postop visits for 90 days and a post operative 30 day insurance policy. Additional expenses beyond this package can include preoperative blood tests, xrays, mammograms, overnight stay in the hospital, postoperative medications, clothing compression garnments, etc as appropriate and necessary.

I hope this information is helpful. Please call us to arrange a convenient time for your complimentary consultation.
