I am 57, weigh 115 and wear a size 4/6 — I eat healthfully and exercise faithfully and know I look pretty good for my age, but having 3 babies in 5 years in my mid-30s left me with a lot of loose abdominal skin. It wasn’t so bad before menopause, but now it’s very saggy and makes me very self-conscious, either in or out of clothes. I would like to do something about it but I am med-sensitive, so I am afraid of using general anesthesia for an elective procedure. What about tucks that are done with local/sedation??? Are they as effective?

I would be extremely cautious about having a tummy tuck under local with sedation. Your primary focus should be on finding a board certified plastic surgeon near you that you can feel confident in and listen to their advise and consul. Local with sedation can be just as risky or riskier than general anesthesia. Under lighter forms of general anesthesia, your airway is protected. If you are in the middle of a surgery and not tolerating the procedure under local, you may need to be placed under general anesthesia for safety or if that is not available, the surgery may have to be stopped before it is finished to your or your doctors satisfaction with the results.
