My 56 year old sister just had her eyes done & the surgery included blepharoplasty. She developed a slight eye infection now three weeks into recovery. How common is that?
I am sorry about her complication. Infection after blepharoplasty is uncommon but can happen. An eye infection after surgery suggests the infection might come from something other than surgery – eye infections spread easily, ‘pink eye’ especially. Other causes of a red, sore eye after surgery are air borne allergies and dry eye. Both can be treated with eye drops. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
