Kimberly Fowler began her yoga practice after being hit by a car in the 1980s, while a law student, and working two jobs. About a year after recovering, she was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer (she beat that, too). It wasn’t until age 40, after falling 30 feet while mountain climbing and landing on a tree stump, that she created Yoga for Athletes, a business centered around her fresh, no-nonsense workouts for everyone, including non-athletes. As a matter of fact, Fowler’s books and videos are designed to make yoga accessible to the masses, not just Type-A, elite athletes.
Fowler has yoga studios in California and a line of workout clothes and accessories.
