When I study my bare face in the mirror–sans skin products and makeup–I dislike the bottom third, into the neck area, where the skin sags the most and has fine and deep lines. I’d have a lower facelift were it not for the a.) cost and b.) anesthesia. Plus, the bottom half of my face might not match the top half, which wouldn’t be lovely!
Happily, more and more non-surgical treatments are being offered today that promise to noticeably change the texture of the skin all over our body, from our faces to our tummies, from our butts to our legs. Alma Lasers makes many of the high-tech machines that dermatologists use to perform these treatments; one, called vShape Technology, uses non-invasive radio frequency energy that delivers concentrated thermal energy to renew, revitalize and refresh the body and face.
Anxious to tell the FabOverFifty community about vShape, Alma Lasers contacted me about a partnership. I jumped at the chance to learn more about its technology, and was delighted when one of the executives asked if I’d be willing to have Dr. Bruce Katz perform the actual vShape procedure on my face. Dr. Katz is Director of the Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital and Director of the JUVA Skin & Laser Center in New York.
I’m having the fifth (of four to six) treatments tomorrow, Friday, November 3rd, at 11 a.m. (EST), and we plan to show a portion of it on Facebook Live. So please head over to our Facebook page at 11 a.m.
I’m impressed by these before & after photos and will be tickled pink if my results look as good. “You should see a dramatic difference in the overall texture of your skin,” Alma’s Kevin Mendell told me.
The vShape Technology will transmit concentrated radio frequency energy directly to the fibrous tissue under my skin, which causes water molecules to rapidly rotate at a frequency of 40.68 MHz. The heat and friction that’s generated by the process brings the tissue back to its original shape so that the skin is renewed, revitalized, and refreshed. “That means less sagging and less pronounced lines and wrinkles,” Kevin explained. “There’s also minimal discomfort and no downtime,” he added.
“This is not plastic surgery, but you’ll get a nice result, including more definition by your jowl area,” Kevin told me.
Don’t forget. Turn into Facebook Live tomorrow at 11 a.m. (EST)
