Hello. I am going to be 67 yrs. old next month June. I had 2 C-sections, lost and gained weight throughout the years, and now my stomach is just like hanging there. Very annoying and embarrassing. Oh, I also had a triple bypass surgery about a year ago. Is it too late to have a tummy tuck and how much will it cost? Thank you!

Tummy Tuck After A Triple Bypass Surgery- Before considering abdominoplasty surgery, you must have medical clearance, if any significant medical history. This procedure should be done in a safe hospital setting with an overnight hospital stay so that you have adequate postoperative nursing care.

The jury is in and you can have a tummy tuck as long as your cardiologist clears you medically for this. Find board certified surgeons in your community and call around for prices and make sure you are getting the all inclusive fee (no extra charges) when you do compare costs. Best wishes in achieving your goals!

The jury is in… you can do this if you are considered healthy by your cardiologist and if so, you should have no more risks that anyone else. Prices vary by surgeon so you should get a list of board certified plastic surgeons and call around. When searching prices, make sure it included everything (surgeon fee, anesthesia, OR, garments. lab work, etc) to be certain you are comparing apples to apples. Best wishes in achieving your goals through surgery.

I understand you are interested in an abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck — surgery of the abdomen in which excess fatty tissue and skin are removed, usually for cosmetic purposes. The estimated cost for this procedure can run about $8,700. These private pay fees are all inclusive – surgeon fees, garments, facility fee, anesthesia fee and all pre- and post- visits. I’d also recommend you discuss this with your cardiologist to make sure you are being safe and are medically stable prior to undergoing such a large surgical procedure with general anesthesia. I know you are from CA so I’d recommend you go to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and search for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area. Board certification is very important! Best of luck and of course if you are ever in Oregon I’d love to see you!

Hi and thanks for your question. It’s not too late for a tummy tuck or other elective procedure provided your heart doctor gives you the green light. Make sure you see a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Please visit our website for more information and best of luck! http://www.drchaffoo.com

As long as your heart specialist gives you clearance, the surgery can be done. In some cases it involves a little liposuction at the same time as the tummy tuck. Prices will vary from surgeon to surgeon so I suggest picking 2 or 3 surgeons and seeing them in consultation so you can get your questions answered and get prices.Best of luck.
