It is uncommon to have a hematoma following breast augmentation. I have used implants of all sizes from 175ccs to 650ccs. There have been only two hematomas in my practice history. Both occurred between 1-2 weeks post op and related to stretch and/or strain of the pectoralis muscle.

Hematoma is uncommon after breast augmentation especially if blood pressure is normal and medications that can cause bleeding are avoided.
