.Japanese Agarwood was once “used as the centerpiece in Kōdō incense ceremonies to [help participants] achieve a higher level of consciousness and inner peace,” according to the Lisa Hoffman Beauty website. Lisa Hoffman (wife of actor Dustin Hoffman) uses Japanese Agarwood as the centerpiece for one of her 2-vial collection (retail value: $52) which includes morning and evening scents. The Japanese Agarwood essence is intensified with bergamot and spiced ginger, creating a scent the website says, “inspire(s) feelings of clarity and warmth.” What did our FOF testers think? Did this perfume make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Neither the scent for day or evening appealed to me. I used the daytime and evening alone and then decided to mix them, but they gave me a slight headache. It was very strong. The scent is not for me. I definitely would not wear it again.
However, the packaging was unique, practical and eye catching. The satchel is great for a purse or even a pocket.

I usually don’t wear perfume because it gives me a headache, but this didn’t. The day fragrance was light, but warm with a rich undertone. The night fragrance was a deeper, more sensuous version of the day scent, which I really liked.

I can’t put my finger on it, but there is something about the Japanese Agarwood fragrances that lift my spirit. It’s so crisp and fresh, when I smelled this, I was sent reeling back to the 70s when I was a wild, carefree, hitchhiking young woman. Those were the days I wore handkerchief halter tops and bell-bottom blue jeans with frayed hems and sensuality was the norm! I wear it every day and night.

It came in such a beautiful package and I love the case. I tried both the morning and evening versions as well as mixing them together. It is a little bit heavy for my taste. I prefer something a little lighter and sweeter smelling.

I could not stand it! Both the day and night fragrances [made me] smell like an old man. I asked others what they thought. My sister said it smelled like my dad who has been dead 10+ years and wore too much Polo aftershave.

I’m always researching new ingredients and technology that’s either in the testing phase or just released on the market. If a product is effective in diminishing wrinkles, fine lines, improves elasticity of the skin, tightening of the facial skin, giving one a more youthful appearance, then to me, it’s worth it’s weight in gold and I would be willing to pay a premium price for the product. To me, if you look good then you have more confidence and feel better about facing the world. As a single woman, looking my best is particularly important but even if married, I would always still want to retain my youthfulness for as long as I possibly can. I would much prefer to pay more money for skincare products that work extremely well in restoring one’s youthfullness than undergoing any surgical procedure or subject myself to fillers. I would be so priveledged to test this product as I have hyper pigmentation on my cheeks due to cancer medicine methotrexate and others for the last two years. Sometimes in the midst of going through my twice a day multiple medication regiment I get down. The one thing that lifts my spirit is to put on my make-up and make myself look nice to get out of the house to go for a little shopping therapy. Even though I am not a smoker, I have fine lines around my mouth that make me crazy. I would love to see if this reduces the appearance of the fine lines around my jowls and also see if this can reduce the big blotches (I call them my puzzle pieces) that appear along my jaw line. I love serums and this sounds like it has solid ingredients. Since they are a natural ingredient company I would like to believe that this product won’t have any unneccesary fillers, silicones, etc. I would love to give this a try!

I really need to find some help. I am 76 with fair skin and suddenly the wrinkles found my face and started joining the lines. My skin is fairly resistant to treatment (such as acid peels which I tried about 12 years ago when I thought I was seeing wrinkles). I do not currently have the equipment to download a photo but, if selected, will certainly go to my daughter and have her do one as needed. I’ve given a great deal of thought to various products…have a friend who has used Strivectin for two years and see no change in her skin. Guess that I am saying that I am a tough customer and have the ability to be fair but am also diligent regarding use use and evaluation. Plus – I really do need such a product. In my opinion – nothing is too much if it works.

I am not one to use a lot of gadgets on my face so I would love to try the Cell ID defense serum on my face. I am basic when it comes to my skin, wash moisturize and a little make-up. I am seeing more fine lines around my eyes and mouth area especially when I am smiling. Now that I am in my 50’s I am smiling more and the lines show more.
