Renee Claire is giving away a set of Bedhead pajamas–luxury cotton PJs that have gone to bed with stars such as Diane Lane and Patricia Arquette. Enter to win by answering this question in the comments below: which pair of Bedhead pajamas would you most like to win?
In 1999, Renee Claire was struggling to make ends meet, working as a waitress by night, and designing a line of dresses during the day. One day, while Renee was on her way to drop off merchandise to a boutique that sold her dresses, she was inspired to start a new venture. “In [the] window was a pair of pajamas,” says Renee. “I thought, ‘wow.’ This woman has been great in retail and if she’s got pajamas in her window, this must be important.”
Renee did her research, and found that there was a void in high-end sleepwear sold by upscale department stores. Using her expertise in fashion design, as well as her connections to material vendors, she created Bedhead–a line of prestige printed pajamas, made from high-quality cotton. “I scraped together enough money to show my first collection at a lingerie trade show in New York,” says Renee. “There were no more than 8 or 10 pieces so it was kind of grassroots.”
“From that show alone, I booked $20,000,” says Renee. “I saw the head buyer from Neiman [Marcus] at this show, and eventually he decided to place an order. Bedhead was born!”
Bedhead was a sleeper success. Fifteen years after her first trade show, Renee sells her sleepwear in upscale U.S. lingerie shops and department stores such as Neiman Marcus. She also sells in more than 80 international boutiques. The signature sleepwear has has even been featured primetime on hit shows like “How I Met Your Mother,” “True Blood” and on the big screen in the first “Sex in the City” movie. You may have recently spotted a pink pair of PJs by Bedhead on “it-girl,” Zooey Deschanel in this iPhone commercial.
With over 100 styles of Bedhead Pajamas–what’s Renee’s own FOFavorite pair? “Being over 50, I really like lightweight [material] for hot flashes. I love the cotton voile [pajamas], it’s a semi-sheer fabric that just kind of floats. I also love the Liberty of London fabric–[the] the cloth is always cool no matter what time of year it is. Wash after wash, they still look amazing–they hold up beautifully and you’ll have them for years.”

So many pretty and practical Pj’s, but it wasn’t until I found Bedhead’s Wild Thing Flannel PJ’s that I knew this was it. One step out of the box and animal print, I just love it. I would even wear these from my room at the casino’s into the gaming room at night. I try to sneak in at least one session in the middle of sleep time. These would keep me warm with all that air conditioning.

I really like the The Jean Lowe PJ (Blue) – Artist Series 1002-V-704. The style and color is just perfect for me.
Love most all the styles and it is really hard to pick because they are all great.

I have a 6-year old pair (Cherry Blossom print) that I LOVE–my favorite PJs ever! My daughter gave them to me for Christmas. The cotton gets softer every year. I have lost some weight so I’d love a new smaller pair that I don’t have to draw up in the waist so much. Really like the blue Hawaiian Paisley traditional style. They’re the best…a fan in Georgia.
