11 Fashion Trends That Would Have Made Us Cringe Growing Up

When we were in our 20s and 30s, heaven help us if we wore slacks to a corporate job or heels without pantyhose, and if a fashionista mixed patterns in his collection, he’d be booed off the runway.

(Almost) anything goes today, and even if that neck scarf is a tad hot in the summer, at least it looks cool!

Now, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear…

Pantyhose with shoes ALWAYS for occasions…this is non-negotiable if you are a lady.

Sorry but I will never wear pantyhose again. Difficult, uncomfortable, struggle-worthy and don’t last worth a spit. If I need to wear pantyhose, I will wear spray on leg makeup or tanner instead. Pantyhose is dead, as far as I’m concerned.

I have to say that if I am ‘dressed up’ in heels and wearing a knee length skirt, I am wearing hose. I don’t always (in summer heat out of doors, casual skirts for daytime) but definitely for an occasion; it just looks more polished. AND it makes your legs look better with even color. Kate Middleton wears hose, BTW and she is one of the most chic women in the world.
I do wear mixed patterns, white after Labor Day (live in the South), unabashed bling, and show a color bra strap or a bit of lace underwear with certain outfits. Can’t say I wear see through shirts with or without dark bras, though.
