{Giveaway} Carmen Marc Valvo Glasses

Carmen Marc Valvo is giving away glasses to four lucky FOFs. The winners can choose any pair of optical or sunglasses from this season’s line. Enter to win by answering in the comments below: Do you have good eyesight?

How has a 40-something male fashion designer become the go-to eyewear designer for FOF women? Just ask Carmen Marc Valvo. From the day he launched his line, in 1989, his designs have been a hit with FOFs, including Iman, Oprah, Jessica Lange and Kim Catrall. Perhaps it’s because Valvo got his start as a ready-to-wear designer for Nina Ricci, who started her wildly successful clothing line at age 49.
Carmen also knows what FOFs want, because he surrounds himself with them–Vanessa Williams is a long-time friend who he partnered with in 2008 on a public service campaign about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings (he was diagnosed with the disease in 2003). In 2005 he joined Katie Couric and the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) for the Be Seen, Be Screened campaign.
Valvo launched his eyewear collection in 2007, with an emphasis on glasses that transition from day to evening. “I wear and work with the brand because it fits my lifestyle,” says FOF Renee Edelstein, Western Regional Sales Director for the company. “I can go from casual to formal and my eyewear works for both.”
To find a retailer of Carmen Marc Valvo eyewear in your area, visit www.SigEye.com.

Enter to win glasses from Carmen Marc Valvo by answering in the comments below: Do you have good eyesight?

Four FOFs will win. The winners can choose ANY pair of optical or sunglasses from this season’s line.

Do I have good eyesight? Not anymore. The good thing about that is- when I’m putting on my makeup I think I’m looking pretty-good. Now my hearing is not so good either but at least I can’t hear people saying that I don’t look “pretty good” so it’s a win-win situation for me. I’m a happy girl!

My eyesight has gotten progressively worse in the last two years – I’m farsighted – so it affects all the things I love to do – reading, using computer (also my work), making jewelry, counted cross-stitch, etc. I would love a stylish pair of glasses or sunglasses as I always just get what’s cheapest because of our financial situation. I truly would love a pair that would serve as both!!!

Well. . . I have to say it ain’t what it used to be! I have a job that puts me in front of a computer monitor doing medical transcription for at least 8 hours 5 days a week – and then, of course, in my off time, there is Facebook. My eyes are subjected to a lot of strain and squinting (not good for the wrinkles either!), and I definitely do have to wear computer glasses and have for some time now. However, I think it is probably time to check into a pair of glasses to wear in other areas of my life – TV watching, reading labels when shopping, and, last but not least, driving.

🙂 Love, love, love the Carmen Mark Valvo glasses! Classy and elegant!
Yes, I do wear glasses and have since I was in high school. I rebelled for several years but during college I realized they did improve my life and I let go of the “nerdy” label (glasses were not highly thought of by ANYone in those days!).
I’ve advanced (with age, of course!) to trifocals and now that I’m retired, bifocals are perfect. Over the years I’ve loved my Laura Ashley glasses the best, sat on more pairs than I care to remember, left one favorite pair in the front seat pocket of a plane (never to be returned!) and another pair in a movie theater! So far I’ve refused to wear one of those “around the neck” glasses holders, though I guess it might be helpful. I’ll do it one of these days…not ready to take that “old lady” (in my mind!) step, yet!
The older I get (and I wake up thankful to God for each new day) the more I “see”, with or without glasses. I try to focus on the little pleasureful things in life, birds singing, yellow leaves floating down the creek, an orange cat curled up in my lap sleeping. I see that forgiving is way easier these days…life is too short to let anger get in the way of living and loving. I’m blessed to be able to read lots of great books, a joy in my life. I am blessed to be able to Skype with three grandkids in Washington State and one precious two-year old granddaughter in Maine, all from our little home in Oregon…technology is so wonderful!
I didn’t mean for this to be so lengthy. It’s just that I am grateful to be blessed with healthy eyesight, glasses that help me see and an open heart and mind that help me to see even more. My life is fabulous! It’s not perfect, mind you, with chronic health issues that I live with but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
God has blessed me with good vision, both physically with my glasses and from my heart, always. 🙂 Thank you for the opportunity!

After nearly 2 years of letting my brick-henna’d hair grow out to it’s natural brown-and-unicorn-hair color (my teen daughters description) I’m ready for some bling in a really bright color frame. I can ONLY chalk this up to Dr. Farkas in NYC: I’ve had the same eye doctor- first the father, now the son- since I was 16 when I first got my hard contact lenses. I am Incredibly nearsighted, and had thick, distorting “coke bottle bottom” glasses; getting contact lenses literally stopped my myopia from worsening. My eyesight has always been good though I do wear prescription eyeglasses now for my aging eyes. Recently, I have developed floaters and flashers and now am struggling with them. They are driving me crazy and making me feel very bad about my eyes.

Hello! Considering my age, I’m happy to say my eyesight is pretty good. Yes, I wear glasses to read. However, they are not necessary when I drive. Quality eyeglasses make a statement ~ and as a Florida resident, their need is obvious. Thanks for doing this contest. And, y’all make it a great day.

At our time of life, the notion of good eyesight can be relative. Yes, I wear glasses, and don’t see very well without them. However, my vision is wonderful, when compared to what it was before cataract surgery. The most important thing is my gratitude for what I see. November is a month to be thankful, and I am.

I depend heavily on reading glasses and struggle with how to wear them conveniently. After ditching my little-old-lady chain, I now wear them pushed up on my head but still find myself juggling and fumbling between reading glasses and sunglasses. Every so often I’m tempted to give in and just go with bifocals but I haven’t been brave enough to take the plunge (yet)!

For many years I had terrible eyesight. Between heredity and having German measles as a kid, I had coke bottle glasses most of my youth.
When I was 43 I had Lasik Eye surgery that reduced my need for prescription lenses to the ‘cheater’ reading glasses you can buy in drugstores. It was one of the best things I ever did…now I can wear all those cute sunglasses that I could never wear before!

My eyesight is so frustrating. I wear contact lenses. They have corrected one of my eyes to see distance and one of my eyes to see close-up. This results in my vision being only “fair” for either distance or close-up! Without my contacts I can see up close PERFECTLY!! But with my contacts I have to wear Reader Glasses to be able to see anything up close or to read. Since I am a seamstress, I do a lot of close-up work so I end up wearing contacts & glasses at the same time. Ugh!
