A Breakthrough Formula Gives Our Skin Cells The Energy They Need

The beauty industry is attracting more scientists than ever, who are studying the extremely popular subject of aging. Every day, we hear about new lotions, creams and serums that reportedly stall, or even reverse, the aging process as much as possible, at least when it comes to our skin, one of the most visible signs of getting older.

Although I wasn’t a stellar science student in school, I still work hard to understand the science behind the new beauty products we’re invited to cover for our wonderful community of women, 45+ . Even if we’re compensated to write about these products, I don’t like parroting a manufacturer’s claims that its formula reduces wrinkles and under-eye circles, as well as increases skin elasticity, for instance, without explaining how the product works–in simple, clear terms that make sense to all of us. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to try it yourself.

Of course, I know that even if I love a product, after using it for weeks and months, and swear that it has dramatically improved my skin, that doesn’t mean your skin will react the same way.

MITOQToday, I’m going to tell you about a beauty product from a healthcare company in New Zealand, called MITOQ, that’s available as both a dietary supplement and a serum. Not an especially sexy name, MITOQ comes from the scientific term mitochondria, which are considered the “powerhouses” of our cells because they generate the energy that they need to do their jobs. Brain cells, for example, require a great deal of energy to be able to communicate with each other and with other parts of the body. Muscle fibers need energy to help us do everything from walk to lift heavy bags.

A process called oxidation occurs when oxygen interacts with cells of any type, such as an apple slice or, in our bodies, the cells lining our lungs or in cuts on our skin. This produces some type of change in those cells. They may die, such as with rotting fruit. In the case of cut skin, fresh new cells replace dead cells in time, resulting in a healed cut.

As we age, our mitochondria, and the supplies we need to fight oxidation (antioxidants) start to decline, and we simply cannot combat the damage to our skin and body from free radicals like we used to when we were younger. This can lead to cancer, heart attacks, diabetes and early aging.

That’s where MITOQ comes in. “ For the first time ever, we have found a way to deliver an antioxidant right to the mitochondria, where 90 to 95 percent of your cell’s free radicals are generated,” said Greg Macpherson, MITOQ CEO. “This helps your cells to produce the right amount of energy and function properly.”

Free radical damage affects our brain, heart. liver and kidneys, Greg added, but we notice the changes in our skin first. It begins to lose its elasticity and collagen, and we may start to see fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. Our skin also starts to look dull and loses its youthful “glow.”

supplementMITOQ 5-mg Targeted Antioxidant Supplements reportedly “increase our energy, support organ health and provide an overall improvement in wellbeing.” The MITOQ Power Antioxidant Rejuvenation Serum is designed to help our skin look smoother, brighter and younger by reenergizing it at the cellular level. It reduces age spots and wrinkles and increases elasticity. MITOQ is said to be 1,000 times more powerful than than any other antioxidant in an anti-aging topical cream or serum.

MITOQ’s technology is supported by over $50 million in research and has over 200 published studies, over a decade, showing how it can assist a range of health issues. After testing the products on “real people” for eight weeks, in 2013, the London Dermatology Clinic saw a 65 percent reduction in wrinkles; a decrease in skin redness, and up to a 70 percent improvement in skin texture.

“I’ve been using MITOQ serum and taking its supplements for about three weeks, and feel even more energy than I usually have, even when I haven’t slept as many hours as I’d like. When I told a blogger, with whom I was meeting yesterday, that I’m 68, she paid me a great compliment by saying my skin looks great! I am thrilled by the new breakthrough Indy beauty formulas coming out on the market today, and plan to tell my 33-year-old daughter about this one.”

“I did not expect immediate changes, but my skin looked more hydrated and slightly less lined after using MITOQ for only a day or two. Other changes occurred slowly over the next few months – my age spots lightened, areas of redness lessened, and my skin became firmer and smoother.”

The folks at MITOQ are pleased to offer the FOF community 20% off its Supplement and Serum. Be sure to enter code FAB20 at checkout.
