Geri,
Since orange and bold colors are in this spring, you may choose to go with a variation. Shades of coral; tangerine; and peach may add some zing to your look. If you wanted to with blue, here a couple of color choices: azure; robin egg; sapphire or indigo. Most important, feel terrific in whatever you choose. That is what will give you that “Fab Over Fifty” glow! (If we could only bottle that!)
Something light, springy and happy! All the pale shades are in this spring, but particularly the beige/khaki or pink line. Check to be sure what colors are on your personal color chart first……….and wear “fun” shoes, not too much jewelry, but enough to make your outfit POP ! Have a ball !
Prints are big this season and so is yellow. It’s always a good idea to do a knee length cocktail style dress. It’s very “In Style” to not wear everything that matches. For example a Lovely print dress with shoes that mimic the slightest color in the print, with a purse that mimics another. It’s a nice change of pace to break things up with color without going too physodelic. Your jewelry selection could go bold and statement oriented or very delicate and simple. I’m leaning towards delicate jewelry this spring.
knee length, it is! i have a print dress that I love so i will wear that and take your advice about the shoes. My jewelry is bold, so I will stick with that.
Hi Geri,
A floral knee length dress(a feminine trend this Spring season) that flatters your figure. Prints are very personal, if you cannot find one that you love, the “Little Black Dress” with important jewelry is a given. Some suggestions: a wide gold cuff and depending on the neckline of the dress either chandelier earrings or a multi-strand necklace.
Have a wonderful time at the wedding.
Best, Donna
You cannot go wrong with an elegant summer dress or light colored pant suit, definitely keep equally elegant wedge sandals in mind to go with your outfit if the wedding is outdoor.
Geri-
‘Bit of a general question here…
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors (will you be waling on grass?)
Do you wear your glasses everyday (can you wear contacts?)?
Do you look best in a knee length dress, skirt suit, or a pant ensemble?
Either can be dressy enough depending on the fabric (s). By that time of year the look can be spring-y and bright.
Wear a great smallish bag or clutch along with well chosen shoes. They can make-or-break your outfit.
Best,
Sherrie (www.sherriemathieson.com)

Hi Donna,
I am taking your advise and wearing a floral-like print, although it’s not obviously a floral. Thank you so much.

Hi Sherrie,
Wedding is outdoors and in a tent. Will be walking on grass if the weather is nice. Wear glasses. Look best is a knee length dress.
