Rather than one place, I will recommend several…there are many great spots along Newberry Street and also in the North End and in the Quincy Market area. There are a lot of choices and price ranges…all you need is a lovely day or evening and you will find some great places!
If you are going to Cape Cod ( or “down the Cape ) as we say in Boston, there are several that I really enjoy. Tugboats in Hyannis Harbor is a fun place to sit outside on the deck and watch the boats, but again, there are many to choose from. If you are going to the South Shore on this side of the bridge ( meaning either the Bourne or Sagamore Bridge) Plymouth Harbor has some delightful spots as does Scituate Harbor.
I will check out for more specific names once I have a better idea what area you are exploring. J
Have you tried the Hingham Shipyard restaurants on the water? There is Hingham Beer Works (not really my type of food, but very popular) and Alma Nove, more upscale dining on the waterfront. Typhoon Asian Bistro also has outdoor seating.
