I planted Lavender last spring and it grew nicely all summer. I expected it to come back this spring – it hasn’t. What can/should I do to it in the fall to encourage regrowth in the spring?

Apple Pie is right – depending on where you are, it might be asking a lot to keep a lavender over the winter. Check with your local cooperative extension for the best variety for your area.

In response to both guru’s I didn’t realize there were different varieties – I will check with my hair dresser if she knows what type she has, because it was the ones in her garden that inspired me to plant it in the first place. Thank-you for taking the time to answer my post.

some lavender plants can be tender perennials and some are not cold hardy such as French or mediterean varieties. Best to research which varieties are best for your particular area
