Every spring I start seeds indoors for planting out after the ground warms and usually have great success – this year I tried Datura seeds and not one came up! Are they a hard seed to germinate, or does germination take an unusually long time?

Datura needs warm soil, so you will have to be patient. Here in the Southeast, our native Jimsonweed (named for a historic Jamestown incident) will not start sprouting until late May through early June. Good luck, Pam
