Definitely it is worth staying in Venice. St Mark’s square is magical at night. Let it sweep you away. I have had good luck renting an apartment there. You might try that. You get the added adventure of shopping for a few groceries for breakfast. To save money- eat lunch out and have a picnic dinner in.

It would be cheaper to stay outside of Venice, but not worth the savings. You can find moderately priced lodging in Venice and be glad you did. There is no other place like Venice – a living musem. I urge you to stay in the vast labarynth that is the city.
