My college roommate and I want to take a 4 day trip to celebrate our 40 years of friendship. Any suggestions about where to go on short trip and get the most bang for our buck?

Try a spa. Depending upon where you are, Red Mountain would be great. It is just outside Las Vegas in St George, Utah. I specialize in group travel for women and have been there several times. I have also arranged for a similar reunion group to stay there. There are wonderful spa all over the country. If you would like help please call me. I am on the west coast. 503 227 7220.

Definitely a cruise would give you the most bang for your buck but if you are looking for something other than a cruise and would like to stay in the USA if you have not already been to the Napa/Calistoga area of California there is a wonderful resort there, it has a spa and a 5 star restaurant! Not to mention you are close to all the wineries if you wanted to take in some wine tasting. Please contact me if you would like more information.

Depending where you are located, a short 4 day cruise would be fun and a good value. If you can’t get to an port area easily, then Vegas is always good if you want to be busy, or if you want to just relax and have some quiet time look at a nearby mountain getaway with hiking, water, and outdoor activities.

For a 4-day getaway you don’t want to have to travel too far. Where are you based?

I’m in the Dallas area so we have great airport accessibility.

Well, of course, it all depends on your interests but I’d recommend Scottsdale if you’re looking for spas and hiking; Red Mountain Resort & Spa in Utah if you want a wellness resort experience with lots of activities and great but healthy cuisine; Vegas for shoppings/spas/nightlife/entertainment; and if you want something more cultural San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. And, if you decide on San Miguel let me know and I will give you suggestions on where to stay.

Montreal or Quebec for local (relatively) travel to a foreign country (without the expense of crossing the ‘pond’). Once you tell them that you are from the States, most can speak English. Montreal is a fun modern city (college town: McGill) with fun shops and good food and even a fun Chi8na town. Quebec has the New City and the charming, quaint Old City below the cliff with Old Québec/Dufferin Terrace. There is the Old Quebec Funicular to get from one to the other or stone steps with shops along the way. You can of course stay at the amazing Château Frontenac or we stayed at a B&B across the park from the Frontenac for a fraction of the price. Stay at a B&B in an area you both love…wine country, the ocean, mountains, etc. Ask the owner when you book for “to do” suggestions or insider “locals” tips.

Hi I would look into a 4 day cruise or all inclusive resorts such as Paradisus.
