I have never traveled other than U.S. I want a second chance at love with a man I have met who is my age 55. He has never been married, no children and I have no children and not married. We would love to to travel to a place and make memories any suggestions for that special destination?

BERMUDA is the answer for me – a most ideal spot – especially for a romantic get-away! My husband and I have been numerous times and every time has been spectacular. Whether you cruise from the East Coast or fly – Bermuda is a beautiful blend of spectacular beaches (don’t miss Horseshoe Bay – THE most beautiful beach in the world), quaint towns (St. George is a perfect afternoon destination) or shopping in Hamilton, this island is perfect! Stay at the Four Winds – quaint cottages away from the hustle and bustle! Check it out – you won’t be sorry! Have a great time!

There are so many wonderful cities that you could travel to and make fantastic memories. But given the situation as you describe it, I’d recommend Paris. The city is made for love!

A new romance ? Buffalo NY would be special! OK just kidding and no offense to Buffalo but i do suggest somewhere else. In Italy in the Tuscany area there is wonderful place called Cinque Terre . Here is a link to more info http://www.cinqueterreonline.com/
It is collection of five villages on the coast…stunning views, quaint villages, great food. Between two of the villages you can walk along the cliffs on what is know n as the Via Dell’Amore (or roughly “Lovers Walk”). From Wikki- The path from Riomaggiore to Manarola is a beautiful trail along the shore is very easy to hike.

Along the way, lovers have the opportunity to write their names on the rocks and trees surrounding the walk. In the middle of Riomaggiore and Manarola you will come across ‘The Lover’s Lock’ which is a place to seal your eternal love. At this point there is a concrete throne in the shape of a male and female locked in a kiss, where many people duplicate this creating a loving photographic opportunity. Remember to bring a small lock to attach to one of the many gates or rails to seal your eternal love in Cinque Terre.
I recommend you go in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall not summer when it is hot and crowded. We went in early Oct, the weather was wonderful and the streets were deserted…just us 50 something lovers…have fun

It depends on how much time you have to take this trip and what your budget is. If you are looking for a destination that offers the sun and beach there are some very nice adults only all inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean as well as Mexico. If you are looking for a destination rich in history and culture then Europe maybe the place for you. Here in the States there are some really nice, romantic resorts that offer golf and a spa. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any of these possibilities further.

If you stay in the states – we love North Lake Tahoe and it’s beauty. We usually go in September and stay at the Resort @ Squaw Creek (beautiful and lots of trails) – plus it is close to Napa/Sonoma to take a day trip to and enjoy wine country and great cuisine. We got there most every year for our anniversary – to spend time with each other and relax in it’s splendor. South Lake Tahoe does have casinos – but it too commercial for us (but it’s there also).

Depending where you live and how much time you have, I would suggest a nice romantic beach get away. Fiji or Tahiti are very sepecial or if you are on the East coast, try an all-inclusive resort for adults only in the Caribbean.
If you prefer more cultural experiences and outdoor adventure, Central America could also work – El Salvador or Costa Rica in particualr.

Tahiti, Bora Bora, and one of those intimate islands would be wondrous. On the island of St. Thomas they have a hotel called Pools and Patios, so each hotel room has its own private pool as you go outside that is connected to your specific room. Also, the trek to St. barth’s or Nevis is a worthwhile romantic excursion.

    1. Paris. Everyone feels in love when in Paris.
    2. Venice. Stay at an outrageously expensive hotel or a small pensione – it doesn’t matter. Take a gondola and kiss immediately under the Bridge of Sighs.
    3. New Orleans. No other place like it in the world – just avoid Mardi Gras and other big occasions.
    4. San Francisco. A wonderful place to be in love.
    5. Bermuda. Gorgeous – with an extremely high standard of living.
    6. Marrakech, Morocco. In particular, stay in the Dar ma Ward riad. It’s a beautiful and serene oasis. If you make it outside, stroll around the old city which you will recognize from the CSNY song. It’s lovely to fly into Casablanca and take the Marrakech Express! That will definitely be a memory!

Take a cruise to either Alaska in May or early June or to New England/Canada in the fall. I think being on the water can be very romantic.

Sounds like anywhere the 2 of you go will be memorable! San Francisco is a terrifically romantic place if you want to stay stateside….the Caribbean (thinking an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic) is a wonderful relaxing getaway…..Paris, naturally, is a place you will never forget….just have to make sure not to run yourself ragged going from place to place….guess that would be true for anyplace you choose….just enjoy one another’s company….you are so lucky to have found love!!

Depending on your amount of time and what you love to do…there are many places I can think of. In Italy…Florence is busy yet romantic, Venice is romantic, Sienna is an amazing hill town, Lucca has special charm. In France…Paris of course, or the wine country and stay at an inn. In Germany…take a river cruise on the Rhine, visit castles in and around Heidelberg, spend a day or more in Luxembourg City, Lux. In England…stay at an inn in Cambridge and tour colleges and pubs. Or head to the Caribbean to an island and spend time on the beach.
There are many options…I would start with a list of what you like to do and what you want to get out of this trip. Is it museums, beach life, wine country, history, big city life, country life or???
That would help to start with and you can go from there. Let me know if need anything more specific.
