Your skin has the capability to keep itself moisturized. The women I have worked with over my 35 years as a make up artist, with the best skin, use only water on their face.
Yes, water! The skin creates a protective mantle that keeps outside dangers out and hold in the moisture you body creates from the inside. That protective mantle gets stripped off when we wash with soaps and cleansers everyday. If you must use something other than water, use a very very gentle cleanser with no soap or detergents. A good rule of thumb is if it stings your eyes then its too harsh. Then rinse with filtered water. The chlorine in tap water will dry your skin out. Do not use an astringent toner. Use an organic moisturizer with no toxic chemicals. Olive oil and argon oil list as one of the first five ingredients is important. The first five ingredients of any product are what it is mostly made of. Make sure one of the ingredients is organic bees wax. That is will add the added protection needed to keep your skin moist. Boomstick Glo is exactly that. Go to http://www.boombycindyjoseph.com and see the ingredients, demos and testimonials.
I would love to read a report on how it goes!

Cetaphil moisturizing crème that has no fragrance, lanolin free & is a deep hydrating crème. Lanolin is a major ingredient in a lot of drugstore moisturizing lotions and can be VERY irritating to dry skin because it’s a wool grease secreted from domestic sheep.
Cetaphil can be used by alone or w/ Cortizone 10 Plus & Dr. Linda Franks a leading dermatologist in NYC, gave me a recipe that you can mix w/ a kitchen spoon until both ingredients become well blended. During the winter months the added boost of Cortizone 10 Plus (Aloe Vera gel w/ vitamin A & E) for anti-itch will make your dry skin feel so much better. You may find the Cortizone to be a little sticky during the humid summer months, but it has never been an issue for me.
    INGREDIENTS:
One jar of Cetaphil Moisturing Crème
Two tubes Cortizone 10 Plus (1 oz. each tube)
Please view my demonstration video “Hydrate With Cetaphil Moisturizing Crème on my website http://susanhersh.startlogic.com/?p=62 or You Tube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/MeetTheExperts

    Best,
    Susan

Enter answer here …An Ayurvedic doctor gave me this tip for dry skin, and it works well. After a bath or shower, do not dry with a towel. Instead, use Neutrogena body oil (Original scent) and massage it into your skin. The water and oil will emulsify, leaving your skin moist and dewy. For your face, I always recommend to my clients that they massage extra virgin olive oil (about 1/2 teaspoon) into their face and neck right after cleansing. Within five days, the difference will be noticed by everyone. Extra virgin olive oil has a cell size smaller than your blood cells, and absorbs quickly into the skin. If you have excess, you can blot it with a tissue. It will not come off on your pillow or clothes. It has every antioxidant the body requires in direct proportion. You will enjoy the benefits of this easy-to-use skin care. Good luck with your endeavor.

I have dry skin as well and though creams and serums will help Ive decided to take it a step farther since I’m now 51 , I am now taking 2 supplements to help with this problem I’m taking a collagen supplement and Resveratrol both of these can be found at a reasonable price at puritan’s pride online store or amazon .com
I have found that these will pick up the slack where creams and lotions stop . In beauty creams that work well for dry skin I would suggest Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream for face for body Aveeno daily moisture

    Hi there–

Dry skin can be the result of several lifestyle factors — internal and external.
To give you a proper answer, I would like to know:
    1. What have you used that didn’t work.
    2. What you are currently using. — cleanser, treatments etc
    3. Do you exfoliate? ( you need to get rid of those upper layers of for moisturizer to work!)
    4. Remember too that medications and diet can have a direct influence on your skin having a dry appearance.

I look forward to your reply.
