I go to the gym and work out and try to eat a low calorie diet but find that it’s still difficult to lose the weight around my middle. I keep hearing that it’s not the crunches that work but diet. Can I get a six pack in my fifties or at least lose the weight?

    I am certified in PT and Nutrition form Cornell. The way to lose weight is eating until you are full but from a plant based diet. Go to site of Dr. John Mcdougall, use the recipes for all you food and you will lose weight. Crunches make ab muscles strong but the fat is from eating complex carbs like yams, brown rice, beans, whole grains, all veggies, fruits. When you eat food from animals, it stores as FAT!
    Plant foods burn calories as they are full of fiber and have no cholesterol. Animal foods add weight gain, heart disease, cancer, arthrities, auto immune disorders. BUT, remove all extracted oils too as that is just 100% fat! Cook McDougall recipes to learn how to cook without the processed oils…all veggie oils. And oils hurt your heart by increasing your bad cholesterol, your LDL!

    Our bodies store our excess estrogen in our fat cells and produce more fat cells to store more estrogen. This is why most of us gain in what I call the Ladybug area – basically waist to knee. The body stores fat where there is no muscle activation. So, the best thing to do is to activate the muscle around your middle where you are gaining weight.
