Has anyone tried WEN? I tried it and for awhile thought it was great, then it started to get very dry. Now I’ve gone back to shampoo and rinsing it with WEN.

I tried it and don’t really care for it. I didn’t feel like it was cleaning my hair and that got to be an issue even more when it came to my scalp. I felt like I had oily dead skin cells that were gunking up my scalp. I would much rather wash my hair with normal shampoo, condition and then use other styling products. I just didn’t feel very clean and fresh with WEN.

Started using it 5 years ago, then 4 years ago switched to the cheaper by 2/3 Sally Beauty knock-off called Hair One–for the last 5 years my hair has looked better than it has ever looked in my whole life, & I’m 59 now and have blonde curvy hair (not curly & not straight) just below my shoulders. Before I started using it my hair was thin, fine, limp, even though it would respond to styling, plus I had to wash it daily. Since using Wen/HairOne my hair has become thick and full and shiny and easy to style and easily holds the style, plus I wash it 3 times a week. It took about two months for me to learn how to use it correctly, even had a week of dry hair because of not doing a couple of things you’re supposed to do. But I watched the DVD a few times through, plus got on the QVC community boards, and listened to Chaz on QVC a few times–now I have the formula and procedure that works perfectly for my hair. I now Love my hair for the first time in my life, and I do not struggle to style it, and the style easily stays in my hair until the next washing even after sleeping at night! It works for me for sure.

That is so interesting because I had almost the opposite reaction, that my hair which tends to be oily wasn’t getting as clean. I tend to rotate my shampoos between 3 ( color treated/highlighted) options which works well for me.

I liked it, but not enough to spend the extra money

Yuck! I felt like my scalp all of the sudden got sores and dandruff (something I have not had probs with in the past). Didn’t really do anything for my dry hair either.

Yes i’ve also tried WEN. I found it made my hair lanky, dead dtraight. I returned what was left of the product as like you it seems more of a conditioner than shampoo. Never felt clean.

This is more my reaction than those saying it dried their hair too much.

The same thing happened to me. I called the company about it and they couldnt believe it. I am so glad that I found someone with the same problem.

I use when and have very dry hair to begin with. I truly only use the product once a week. The other days I rinse with cool water and use the new misting spray.I like it and have a huge bottle left but after that I will try something else organic and natural because my hair is thinning rapidly. Not sure from wen or aging, Only 49!!

I like Wen, but I have very oily hair and I have to wash my hair every day. I have to use something that doesn’t strip out my color, takes out enough oil, and can be used daily. I do use their hair masque on the ends as a conditioner. It sounds to me as if the product is not so great for those who don’t have oily hair.

I liked it when I first used it too (about 3 months) and then I started to notice the dryness. My fried also said the same thing. We have medium length hair. Another friend who has very short hair loves it.

I have very short, fine hair that is dyed to cover gray. I like it. It doesn’t bleach out the color and yet gives me some much needed body. I’ve been using it for about 3 months and my hair looks great – not straw-like at all.

I have to agree with Tracey Brown, I know several people that have had the same experience as well. I personally quit using it for that very reason.

    Hello —

Yes, I tried WEN, as did several writers who work for me. We all had (6 total) a negative experience with the product. My hair felt like straw! I would not recommend this product. I have a review here:

I started using it because my hair was dry, it seemed to help for awhile and then, like you it became like straw.

Glad to know this as I almost ordered it the other day. My hair is dry enough without this. Thanks for the info.
