I have very fine and long curly hair. I use the olive oil products from the ethnic aisle at the drug store. The olive oil shampoo and leave in conditioner really help!

Hands down, the Devachan products are the BEST! Use No-Poo, One Condition, and AnGel and your curly hair will become wonderful. People stop me all the time and ask about my hair – my formerly impossible hair!

I get perms but it looks natural. i use redken curl booster and their mousse. Apply mousse first to” weigh” down the hair somewhat(its not heavy but contained) I then spray curl booster and use a diffuser while soaking wet. Then apply argon oit

The absolute best products are those made by Ouidad who has curly hair herself and developed her line specifically for curly hair. I have tried many products over the years but once I tried these I was sold. I have also been getting her patented, trademark hair cut for about 3 years and it has made such a difference! All the products are amazing and the deep comditioner really does the job. Can’t say enough good things about Ouidad.

At Avon we have a Reconstructive Mask that you would like – regular price $8 but on sale recently for $4.99. I line I really like for curls is the Avon Mark Curl Goddess line – it has a silkening serum $6, styling cream $6, curling mist $6, curl and wave defining gel $6. I used to have super curly hair until my meds made it go straight – hope someday to get my curl back.

Ojon leave n conditioner! It is amazing. My younger sister has very curly dry hair. She had tried everything and was getting so frustrated. I bought her some Ojon leave in treatment after seeing a demo of it on QVC. What a difference it made She is so happy and won’t ever be without it. It moisturized and made her curls soft and manageable. Good luck to you and I hope this will help.

Use Wen and you will never ever have problems with your hair again.on thier web site they have a deal you will not find anywhere else.
Don’t be afraid to use a lot.Let it sit while you go about your shower, then really realy rinse it well. If you have really damaged hair, like me put a few pumps in the ends(bottom half). and LEAVE IT IN!!!
You can thank me later. Be prepared for good things.

Morroccan Oil products contain argan oil, which is GREAT for curly hair! It’s a plant oil, so totally natural, and makes curls shiny as well. I love it.

i use and have used for over 20 years the JF Lazartique products. i used the Propolis Jelly parted into my scalp and the Deep Action Treatment with Carrot Oil. i do this about every 4- 6 weeks . Once a week i use the Treatment Cream shampoo with collegen. i worked at Neimans cosmetics for 17 years and had the opportunity use many of these products. these three are the best for any kind of deep conditioning, no matter the hair type. mine is fine and curly. i’ve been away from NM for 15 years now and still buy these though they are quite expensive. check online…i’ve bought them at Strawberrynet.

I’d appreciate recommendations on how to put curl IN my naturally straight hair. I get perms, but they relax, strip the color out, and just leave friz. I hate straight hair.

And . . . I use Devacurl No Poo and One conditioner. My hair is much less frizzy than it used to be, but I have not been thrilled with their styling products. Set Up and Above is awful and has the opposite effect of straightening and frizzing my hair. For styling, I mostly use either BB Curl Conscious or AG Recoil – working a very small amt thru my hair and diffusing. I’m going to try Wen next, bc my friend’s gorgeous hair is a testament to that product.

    Hi,
There are quite a few products for curly hair targeted to women of color that you may find helpful. Mixed Chicks products were developed by bi-racial sisters who had difficulty finding products for their curly hair. Visit http://www.mixedchicks.net/curly-hair-conditioner.html for the deep conditioner, and check out their other products as well. Also visit http://www.naturallycurly.com for other products that may be helpful.

I Highly recommend Pureology shampoo & Conditioner!!!!!!!! I have tried them all and this is the best for my natural curly hair for added moisture. If I try something new, I always end up going back to Pureology…and their ingredients are healthy! 🙂

I have naturally curly hair but wear it all different ways. When I want to wear my hair curly the only products I have found that work are by Devachan. Takes away the frizz but leaves the curl. You can also try Living Proof frizz styling cream which they sell at Sephora. Sephora gives samples or if you buy it and don’t like it you can return it for a full refund. Can’t do much better than that!

I use Ojon oil. A few drops can be put in your conditioner or can be put in your damp hair or dry hair. It conditions and gives your hair great shine. Also good for colored hair.

Hi Rozzie, I am so happy to weigh in here. I am a curly girl too and have some recommendations for you that I hope will help. I don’t believe in spending a great deal of money on products that look good but don’t perform any better than less expensive options. You didn’t mention your hair texture so I am mentioning two products. Fine/damaged hair responds well to Neutrogena Triple Moisture Prep Recovery Hair Mask. Thicker/damaged hair is helped by L’Oreal Vive Pro Smooth conditioning mask.

I think that there is a danger in over washing our hair. I recommend using shampoo only once or twice a week and instead, rinsing it thoroughly and using a conditioner. I also would suggest a leave-in conditioner such as Aussie Hair Insurance or Infusium 23.

    Hi,
I have naturally curly hair myself and find it tends to dry out, expecially after styling. Both personally and professionally I have tried a lot of products to help condition my hair to keep it healthy.
About 6 months ago I tried Macadamia Healing Oil for Hair and loved it!!! I wash, dry and style my hair as usual and then apply a small amount on my hand and then gently work into my hair starting at the ends and working upward. I don’t go all the way to the roots because I don’t want my roots to look greasy.
Not only does this product condition my hair, it also helps keep my style looking great! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair since I have started using it.
You can find it online or at Ulta or Target. It is a bit pricier then some other products, but I think well worth it. If you use a small amount, it will last a long time.
Let us know what you try and how you like it.
    Best of luck! Mary

Hi, I would suggest using any of Chaz Dean Wen’s products which are available on his own website, but are cheaper on QVC.com website. He recommends that you take his nourshing conditioner and work it through your hair and put a plastic cap on it and sleep overnight with the conditioner. I will warn you though, it takes a whole new mind set to use his products.
I hope this helps. Gail Armstrong

I and my team have reviewed WEN products and they are horrible. There are previous discussions on this product line here. I would never recommend it to someone with curly hair. I truly recommend not suggesting a product unless you have used it yourself or on a client.

An excellent product for curly hair that needs deep conditioning is Ouidad 12 minute deep conditioning treatment, available at Sephora. There’s no harsh ingredients like sulfates or synthetic dyes, and is especially made for curly hair because of the curl’s tendency to lose moisture. The proteins and nutrients bring back the bounce and luster. It is a little pricey-$25-$50-but curly girls who use it say it’s worth every penny.

    Hi,

I too have curly hair and thanks to my profession, I have found some beautiful products that I am in love with. I recommend Shea Mousture Deep Treatment Masque. Not only is it beautiful for deep conditioning, but it is also ideal as a daily grooming product. It is all natural with sea kelp, argan oil and Shea butter. They also have a kit for curly hair which is fabulous. It is available at drugstores like Walgreens and target and online too. DevaCurl is another great line specifically for curly hair. I had a wonderful experience with the owner Lorraine,a curly girl advocate and evangelist at her salon in NYC. Her products are also available at target and online.
