What are BB Creams?

Unfortunately, all BB creams can be different, and the “BB” name doesn’t mean much at all except “this is a cream we put a few things into to try to sell you together as a ‘new’ concept.”. They may or may not contain sunscreen, tint, some acne fighting ingredients, and/or some antiaging ingredients. They are all different, so do your best to educate yourself. As for one that shrinks your pores… I am skeptical, but let us know!

Thank you sooo much for your feedback! With your information and a Sephora Consultant, I was able to purchase a BB that will hopefully minimize my biggest complex, large pores on my nose. Again, thank you!

BB creams are basically multi us cream, combining products to make it easier to take care of our skin. They originated in Germany and Asian beauties made them popular, calling them Beauty Blemish Creams. They are one-step products that can protect, conceal, moisturize and even address specific issues.
Not all BB creams. Most of them have moisturizer and sunscreen in common. From there, they add other actives. Some can help control oil, contain anti aging ingredients, some even will say they will give you a bit of color. Read the labels carefully in order to get the one that is right for you.
While we are on the subject, CC creams – Color control cream, are very similar, but in addition to being a multiuse cream, they make claims of correcting skin tone.
Hopefully that helps. Best of luck, Mary

BB Creams are used as fillers to create a smooth surface to the skin before applying makeup. Polymers are used in microscopic forms and they are situated in a jelly-textured gel for application. They will make you look younger for an occasion, however, anything I have read about them makes me think that these are not long-term solutions.

BB creams are “multi-tasking” creams that make it possible to user fewer products. They started in Asia, and the Asian BB cream usually contained skin lightener and often also were formulated to help acne=prone skin. The BB creams in the US are different, and they usually combine moisturizer, sunscreen and primer all in one. Many women love them as they are both step-savers as well as money savers. At this point, just about all of your favorite brands make a BB cream. Hope this helps!

That is a great question! BB stands for beauty balm and it is a multi-purpose cream-usually a tinted moisturizer with other ingredients to help the skin. There are a multitude of BB’s for skin with different issues, so you have to read the labels to find one that suits your needs best. If you want a foundation with light coverage and some extra benefits, a BB may be right for you. Almost every line has one, and they are available at many different price points, so they can be very affordable as well.

It is a very short reason, stands for BEAUTY BALM. Originally they were made in Japan,Korea all of the places where you would find white skin a plus. One of the main ingredients in bb creams are SPF.Then, they put in slight color, like a tinted moisture
cream. Also vitamins and anti age goodies like antioxidents.Things that fight cell degeneration.I would be at a loss without mine.Us cosmetic firms are coming up with their own brands of bb,look for them at a drug or beauty emporium near you.

They are beauty balms which where originally made for acne sufferers. I was interviewed about CC creams which are the big sister to BB Creams here on this site.
