I have a lot of experience in foot rehabilitation and I think T-Tapp can help you. I am a muscle activation specialist and created a workout specific for foot fitness. I believe that the feet are the FOUNDATION of fitness and, therefore, I think you will find my workout very interesting. T-Tapp uses physical therapy and dance theory in applied postural techniques to help offset muscle imbalance and sometimes even correct it. Check out this success story: http://www.t-tapp.com/trainers/judyfunk/. Email my office at info@t-tapp.com with specifics about your injury and my staff will help to get you started. In the meantime, Amazon.com has a short version of my T-Tapp Chair program that will get you started (http://www.amazon.com/Fit-Fabulous-Minutes-Teresa-Tapp/dp/0345484045/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309985406&sr=8-1)! Scroll down to see the video and begin by adding 4-8 reps to each of the movements for a full sit down workout.

Swim and eat more of this: Eat a plant based diet and you can lose weight.. Eat Whole foods…go to Dr. John McDougall and read everything…get recipes there too. My clients lose whatever extra body fat they need to do by eating whole foods. Remove all animal products from your diet and eat no processed foods…like oils: olive or any veggie oil..all are 100% fat. Use dates in place of sugars to sweeten. Use whole foods. Exercise helps a little to make you slimmer but the foods you eat are key! Plant foods have a thermal burn as they have fiber. Animal foods have zero fiber and have lots of saturated fat, thus creating greater risk for obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, digestive issues..

An injury can sure derail your fitness regimen. Most problems can be worked around – like when you hurt your shoulder, you can train the other arm until your shoulder recovers. But the bigger problem is that an injury can stop your habit of exercising.
Finding a non-weight baring class can be a good alternative for you. As Tannis suggested, Pilates mat is an excellent choice, as well as pool classes. If you can use a bike or a rower, these too can be added. And many of the exercise machine at the gym are seated.
As far as your new appetite, you may just be bored. Finding a new fitness passion may be just the thing you need!

Hi – Sorry to hear about your foot issues. That does add complications as far as exercising, but there are ways around the problem. I’m a Pilates instructor and have taught fitness for decades. Have you tried a Pilates mat class? The majority of the class is done on a mat, not standing, and so there’s very little weight baring on the feet. Seek out a beginner to intermediate class to get going. There are also lots of DVDS available, and online Pilates classes. I happen to have a DVD on Amazon: WELL worked out with Tannis – designed for people 40 and up. If you have access to a pool, add some water exercise classes, or swimming to include a cardio workout in your program. Best of luck – Tannis
