I need a great new hair cut. My hair is mid-length and naturally curly. It will not straighten. What’s a good, classy cut for a 58 year old woman with curly-wavy hair, and a long, narrow face? I have my 40th year class reunion coming up, and want to look vibrant and fresh!

The point of any haircut is to make your face look more oval. The oval face shape is the most pleasing to the eye. In order to achieve this your haircut most shorten the face. A chin length bob (inverted or not) will give width to your face. You do not need short layers that will add height on top. This will only make your face look longer. A long bang would be flattering. No matter what cut you choose, it should not be longer than shoulder length. Check out “Curly Girl” by Lorraine Massey. Follow the instructions to transform your hair into beautiful, shiny curls. This regimen if followed will make you fall in love with your curls.

    Hello,
As we all know, a great hair style that looks good is hard to figure out. What works on one person may not work on the other. However, here are some general points to keep in ind while you are looking.
First and foremost, there are no specifica cuts for woman over 50!! I think concentrating on face shape, hair type and life style is a much better way to find a hair cut that works for you!
With that in mind, here are some pointers to consider:
With a long and narrow face shape, a bob tends to make one’s face look longer.
Well cut layers around a face can shave off years and accentuate facial features rather than face shape.
Curly hair needs the right products to keep curl looking fresh and vibrant. A crul enhancer type of product is key.
There are many great websites with images and information for women with curly hair. I googled “hair styles for women with curly hair” and found lots of sites.
Let us know how it goes!
    Best, Mary
