I want to redo my gray roots at home in between salon visits. I have dark brown hair with red undertones. Any suggestions?

I use Nice & Easy Root Touch-up in 4R. Has enough red in the browns for my roots and lasts for about 3 weeks until my next cut.

I have somewhat the same deal going on with mine. Here’s what to do.
I have purchased all of the “root covers” The best I’ve found is a powder from Joan Rivers. That wonderful woman makes awesome stuff! Try the taupe one,it’s universal. And no greasy feel, you will not notice anything except now, your roots are covered!

Nice and Easy Root Touch-Up. It’s the best stuff ever and only takes 10 minutes. You just apply to your part and around your face and you get an extra 2 weeks between salon visits.

Here are the things that I need to know to give you a correct answer. What is your percentage of gray and what level is your real hair color? level= 1 is black, 2 is darkest brown, 3 is dark brown, 4 is medium brown and 3 is light brown. You should be careful when adding red to your hair color if you have a high percentage of gray or it will be over powering. For hair over 50% gray you need to have at least half your color formula be a neutral brown before you decide how much red to add. You also might call the Clairol hotline for advice on a formula 1-800-CLAIROL. Good luck and if in doubt…don’t do it!

it’s between a 3 and 4. I am not adding red-it has it’s own red tone to it.

Mix 1/2 #3 Neutral Brown with 1/2 #4 Neutral Brown. Buy one box of each and you will be able to use two times.
