I actually would like a lighter blonde shade of red for summer, but the order I filled out wouldn’t let me. Will there be a way to do this before summer?

As a longtime redhead, I agree with the others: see a colorist. To go lighter, you will most likely need to do a malibu treatment, at the least, to remove some of the red before going lighter. I recommend the colorists at Vidal Sassoon, if you’re anywhere near one of their salons. Pricey but so worth it! Gee, in summer, my red hair becomes much more golden and fades more just from being in the sun whether I want it to or not!

Yes, my stylist said that they would strip my red. Then I decided maybe just highlights, like you said, it lightens up considerably in the summer!

I would love to do highlights over my red someday. Let us know how yours works out! Post a photo 😉

You will have to mix at least two colors together. A golden blonde with a copper gold; 3 parts blonde with one part copper gold. I don’t know the level of your hair color but remember when going lighter than two shades of your natural hair color, that your hair will pull red. Take this into consideration if you color yourself. This maybe a little more complicated so if in doubt see a hairdresser.

See/get a consult from a good stylist! (No horror(s) before Summer; could be a long hot one.)
